I guess it makes sense, but the problem is that there tend to be a lot of children when you have concubines, and we are led to believe that there is only Iroh, Ozai and their children. I'm definitely in agreement with you, Boogum - I don't very much like the whole "concubine" aspect for the Fire Nation royal family, although I understand opposing viewpoints and arguments.

That's a good point about the kids, boogum. I just don't find it very plausible. Or appealing, or necessary. lol

I dislike the following:
1. When all the characters in the Zutara fanfiction are all extremely underdeveloped and come out as bratty.
2. When Zuko is some kind of sex god. It's like someone else said, he's REALLY awkward with women so I don't understand why they have to make him unrealistic.
3. When they make Katara really weak as if she's not a master Waterbender and they make Zuko abusive and like he's his Dad.
4. The ones that are really erotic. I like Zutara because of the connection not flat attraction.
5. When I find a really good Zutara Fanfiction and they're unfinished. That makes me really angry. How can people expect to have reviews when they're completely undedicated to their work?

^I agree with each of your points and have further thoughts on the following two. ^The Zuko I know is an awkward turtle duck who blocks Jin's first attempted kiss in "The Tale of Zuko" by holding up a gift between their faces. Level of social awkwardness with the ladies: the real Zuko. ^Unless said pieces are actively in progress and update regularly, and by "regularly" I mean at least once a month. Dead fics are ughhhhhhhh. x_____x

Zuko smells like smoke or cinnamon? Man, I'd always pegged him as smelling like sandalwood thanks to fancy shampoo or something. ... < Biology major > YES! this. Sandalwood also perhaps because of incense or something. I mean I love incense and I know that Iroh tries to teach Zuko to be calm and meditate and whatnot. So that's actually a legit thought process imo. Also - LMFAO!! You're a bio major. XD I was a Government major. So...XD I can get all ranty on the lack of or butchered politics in some of these fics. Trust me - politics WILL be addressed. MUAHAHA! =D XD I'm not sure to what extent but I can definitely put a good bit in because that interests me. But yes. XD =D WOO!

I definitely dislike it when Katara is treated like glass. I especially hate it when she's made to cry all the time for no good reason. I think we all agree that Katara is not a helpless little doll. I feel like authors are always making her tear up about something and it makes you want to roll your eyes, because Katara's character in the show is clearly defiant and strong. She is more likely to cry angry tears than "oh, woe is me!" tears. THIS! This is what I argue with Kataang fans or just anti-Katara people. They don't get it. They think Katara is like that but SHE IS NOT! Thank you for this.

And yes, having a girlfriend will help at least some but even then I'm sure he'll still be adorably awkward at times. Like when he picked up the seashell for Mai. Or when he tried to give her ice cream that fell on her. Lol. And I hate dead fics too though I have a few fics in general I've abandoned or on extended (till idk when) hiatus. Lol. No ATLA ones though.

I dislike it when certain things overrule Zuko's entire personality. He's not the king of sass, but he's not wholly Awkward-Angsty-Mc-Angstpants, either. He's adorable when he's being an awkward angsty turtleduck but I think there is such a thing as 'too much' of that when it comes to Book 3 Zuko. Because it gets to a point where Katara is doing the comforting mother thing, which is not what I really want to see in Zutara at all.
There has to be some sort of balance. He's well traveled, he's got a pretty strong perspective of the world and he even has a bit of a cheeky side (which we saw bring out Katara's own in book 1, tehehe). All in all, Zuko's a pretty weathered guy. He's got the kind of front that belies the whole 'confused angsty teenager' that he used to be, even if he is still tangling with abuse issues internally (I'd surmise in subtle ways- such as an inferiority complex..).
Lastly, he's awkward as hell with the ladies but, at the same time, I don't think he would be AS awkward with Katara as he was with Jin and Mai. With Jin, he didn't even understand kissing cues, but when Mai showed up he was all over her *cough*. Dude's a pretty quick learner when you get down to it. HOW quick he is... I'm not entirely sure. I guess this is still highly debated lol

I agree too! Zuko is really awkward to an extent, but that's not really all he is, either. I think he's most awkward when he feels he's in an uncomfortable situation (as we most are), such as his during his date with Jin or when he was trying to apologize to the gaang. However, I think he definitely reaches a point where he becomes really comfortable with Katara and the rest of the group, and he falls a bit back into a manner which is less awkward and slightly more snarky, if that's even the right word. "We'll be sure to do that, Guru Goody-Goody," is a good example. He's a little bit awkward and he's a little bit of a sassypants, but it really just depends on who he's with, and the environment he's in
