So, at what point does "writer's block" become a terminal condition wherein one can reasonably make the decision to pull a fic off of life support? A month? Two? Six?

Never give up! Actually, I'd say about six months to a year, depending on how sure you are that your muse isn't coming back. You never know what might spark it again.

I had 6 months of writer's block... or really I just had no drive to write. It lasts as long as it does and then suddenly something pulls you in and your writing like a fiend!

I have a FB fic that was lasted updated in 06/07 and I will finish it. I know precisely how. But it needs a major overhaul before I continue and I haven't had the time to do so. All the rest of my fics are mostly dead if not complete/been updated in the last year.
My NCIS is in debate.
My bones? Idk if I will finish it.
My Hellsing? Perhaps. I have no decision made yet. =P I could always write something about that. I'll probably finish this at some point.
My PoT? Because of who I ended up using that character with...nope. Not gonna happen.
My Glee one , it's been months but I have ideas, just no time or drive? Or combo. =P It'll eventually be resurrected/gotten back to. Lol.
So NEVER> XD Not unless you want to stop it. =P

^^ What Kim said. That's exactly how it works. I have some fics that I won't probably go back to, but some I KNOW.
