I'd say make an entire new section for Challenges. Then have subforums for: Writing Challenges, Graphic Challenges, Artist Challenges, Polling, and Recycle Bin. [Polling if we're going to vote for winners, that is. RB for expired challenges, so we don't clog up the place. Closed challenges would usually go to polling, then to the bin.] That way each type of challenge has it's own area. Then we can have certain guidelines for each of the challenges. I'd say we should limit how many challenges can be open at one time, too. Maybe 12 open at once in each section? We can make a form so members can post their challenges, something like this: For graphics Challenge Name: Issued By: Graphic Type (100x100 avatar, 500x200 signature, 700x110 banner, or 800x600 blend): Challenge Ends:
Required Characters (if any): Required Text (if any): Color theme (if specified or up to artist):
Challenge:
For the graphics, I'd say they should run for 2 weeks. That should be enough time. With drawings, I'd say people would need longer, wouldn't they? Most writing challenges over at Harry Potterfanfiction lasted anywhere between a few weeks and like 6 months, depending on what the challenge called for. While the graphics went to voting, the person who made the challenge at HPFF chose the winner and made up their own prizes. Like some authors would review a certain amount of chapters for the winner, etc. They did the judging for their own challenge. But we can do whatever..I was just throwing out ideas. I wasn't sure on the form for like, artist challenges. I'll let you make that one up Vince because I'm not sure how long people would usually need or what to require lol.

I'll create a place for challenges if we get enough members to participate in them.
The Writing challenges should do fine.
EDIT: Just made the Contests and Challenges board. That'll do for now.

Please don't take what I'm about to say as an insult. This is just constructive criticism from someone who likes to be organized.
Anyway, I see that the Zutara Fan Club has been converted into its own forum, but that anything that could pertain to it is all in one thread. For instance, the fan fiction recommendations are all just... in that same thread.
My suggestion is to utilize that entire forum so that there are separate threads for separate topics. Fan fiction, for instance, could be changed back to being its own thread because otherwise, with how much people post in the one Fan Club thread, things like that just get lost... You know? There are already nine pages of conversation, and if someone wants to go back to find a fan fiction recommendation or something, they may have to slog through the entire thread before they find it.
There could also be conversational topics that are divided up by threads such as the conversational topics. One thread per each conversational topic that way nothing gets lost in clutter, and the "main/original" thread could simply house the rules and the people who have joined the fan club, and people could just post there if they wanted to join. Then you won't have legitimate conversations and recommendations cluttered into people requesting joining or the confirmation that a person has joined.
It also won't seem like a waste of space since there's currently only one thread in the entire board.
Just a suggestion. If I haven't explained this properly, please, just ask for clarification, and I'll try to explain it differently.

You should use the search function. There's already a fic rec thread and a fanfiction club.
The Zutara Fanclub will stay the way it is. I like all discussion about Zutara kept in one thread. Unless they're huge debates that require separate threads.

Oh. I couldn't find the fanfic rec thread for some reason, and I thought it was merged into the ZK FC...
So, my question then... is... what's the point of having a whole forum with just one thread? It seems a little like a waste of space. I could understand it being placed in another forum and made into a "global announcement" or whatever ProBoards calls it, so it could be seen no matter where a person is on the overall board.
I guess I'm asking if anything else is going to be intended for that forum or if it's just going to have one thread forever?

The Zutara fanclub is the main thread. It's like the Zutara tag on Tumblr, but heavily moderated. Some people like to go to one place for everything.

I was thinking about putting a Truth or Dare thread on the Challenges Board. It's a game (which can also be a challenge) that I discovered on NanoWriMo and thought it'd be fun to apply as both a game and a challenge to fanfiction writers. But if everyone would rather this be a game than a challenge, then I'm okay with that too.
The rules of the game are that the you choose to either answer the truth OR write the dare that the last (above) poster gave you. You only pick one. Then post your own truth or dare for the next poster.
e.g.

Ohh that sounds like fun! I'd say we should maybe put a rating on the truths to nothing too personal or gross lol. I mean I doubt anyone will but you never know. So just to clarify. The person who starts the topic will post a truth and a dare. The second person will choose one, and then post a truth and a dare for the next person. Right?

Yup. The first person to start the post would give a truth and dare; the next poster either responds with a truth or dare and then presents his/her own truth and dare.
I figure all the truths and dares should be associated with writing or the fandom itself.
