Hi, Im new here, and since I haven't seen a thread like this yet I thought I should just make it myself.
So! Anything you disliked about the show is welcome!
Whether it's a certain episode you found pointless, an plot point that made no sense, a characters actions/reactions to a particular event.
Anything and everything is welcome. But if you could, please explain why you don't like something. For instance, I was watching The Winter Solstice, part 1 today, and it just really bothered me when Sokka blamed the Fire Nation for burning down Hei Bai's forest, because he doesn't even know if it was the FN at the time, he doesn't know the hows or the who's or the whys to the forests destruction, he just let his prejudice and hate take over to form his conclusion that "fire destroyed this place=Fire Nation's fault".But this was at the beginning, before character development set in. It still bothered me though.

I agree. I felt like that episode was really out of place, like they were trying to be hip and 'in' or something. Most of it was just teen drama, like you said. The part where Azula mentions their mother was worthwhile, though. We got an important glimpse at her own insecurities.
I wish the show would've touched a bit more on the "Ember Island reveals the real you" bit when the gaang went there.
One of my biggest qualms about the series, and I know most people share this, is how little time Zuko got to spend with the gaang. Only half a season.

I did see human foot prints, but they looked relatively fresh, and as if only a small group of people walked through it earlier that day.
I wish Zuko got to spend more time with everyone too. The second half of season 3 just needed to be longer n general I think. To give Zuko some gaang time and and make Suki into more than just "Sokka's Girlfriend", cause thats almost all she is after the Boiling Rock, except for stealling the air ship to save Sokka and Toph. At least give the girl some back story, even if it is shallow *coughmaicough*

Yeah! That always bugged me too. I wished Suki would've gotten a larger role, since she became a main member of the gaang. She's like, the one person we never get to see as a child. We know barely anything about her.

I wish we had more Suki too! She's so awesome.
Not surprisingly, but I didn't like how the romance was written in ATLA. Not even because I ship Zutara and am bitter it didn't happen. The execution of Kataang and Maiko was not good, in my opinion.
I also didn't like how Aang was able to defeat Ozai. I expected him to, but I feel like it was a huge cop out how it went down. The lion turtle, and when he jammed his back into the rock, triggering the Avatar State. Blah.

The lion turtle, and when he jammed his back into the rock, triggering the Avatar State. Blah. ^Agreed. The Lion Turtle more/less came out of nowhere, even though we'd seen images of the turtle scattered throughout the rest of the show. Honestly, as I've mentioned in other parts of this forum, the entire treatment of Ozai enrages me to no end. For one, even though as the Fire Lord he is technically supposed to be the most powerful firebender in the world (or, at least, one of the most powerful), we barely ever see him in action. We see him generate one lightning strike at Zuko, which (although impressive) is quickly redirected. Otherwise, we never saw what Ozai could do when he wasn't boosted by the power of Sozin's comet. Other than against Aang, we never even got to see him fight. And his plan in the finale? I mean, laughing like a maniac while burning the entire Earth Kingdom (um . . . what about the Fire Nation colonies?) didn't seem like much to me. Fine, good enough for a Saturday morning one-dimensional cartoon villain, but otherwise . . . ugh. No. Just, no.

That is the part that annoys me the most. I can live with the lionturtle. I can live with the two minutes of his life in which he was certain he'd have to kill Ozai, but I cannot forgive how what was such a Big Deal during s2 (controlling the Avatar State, what it took to willingly go into it, and then getting shot down while on it) just got magically, randomly solved by a conveniently placed rock protrusion. This is not a character issue, this is a storytelling issue.
I wish we'd seen more of Aang worried and actively trying to work on, or around, that energy blockage (or being told he should, at least), the Avatar State is his greatest weapon and he's going in to face his greatest enemy, whatever it was he was planing to do with Ozai during the invasion (which, he's so shocked that everyone expects him to kill the Fire Lord, what exactly was he going to do during the eclipse?! something else I wish had been dealt with) he would still be working under a limited time frame, chances were the eclipse would end and he'd still have an uncooperative Ozai to deal with, not having firebending yet and being only proficient at earthbending, he'd have to fall back onto waterbending mostly (since airbending is not very offensive at all, and there's only so much defending you can do in certain circumstances) and he had no water with him, logic dictates that the AS would have to step in and save the day. But no. Obviously at this point he is able to bring himself down from it, so technically he can control it, but you lost the ability to call upon the accumulated power of thousands of your past lives and this doesn't bother you?
Did I miss anything and he actually was conflicted on any level about having lost access to it? Did that scar not bother him at all? Did he say anything/dealt with it at any point? I think we only find out that the scar blocked his access to the AS when the Magic Rock Protrusion of Serendipitous Plot Resolution pokes him right there and he gets to glow again. I mean, I know he got angry and went off to 'regain his honor' (lol) in the first ep, but he gets his head back on his shoulders soon enough and carries on with the plan (which was also kind of half-baked, I think, or at least a serious case of underestimating the enemy, which makes no sense considering who the enemy is), so in the meantime, there's no resolution to that plot thread, iirc.
That and the general pacing of s3, though I only wish we'd been given a better time frame for how much time goes by between the eclipse and the comet, so that we might be able to calculate how long the gaang was The Gaang, how much time can we assume they spent becoming friends, aside from life-changing field trips and outings to the theater. That at the very least, if time constraints wouldn't allow for them to show us those little moments where relationships 'get furnished' so to speak.

The entire plan to attack on the day of an eclipse wasn't a very good one imo. How would Sokka even know if firebenders lost there power during a solar eclipse any way? does Katara lose here bending during lunar eclipses? Not to mention the whole plan should have been trashed anyway when they found out Azula was in Ba Sing Se because she most likely found out about it while being disguised as a Kyoshi warrior.
